Dark Souls II and III servers taken offline by FromSoftware

Category banner: Video games

On October 30, 2026, FromSoftware announced through its player support account that the Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III game servers are temporarily unavailable on all platforms after a technical issue was discovered. The studio did not explain the cause and said it will share an update once it knows when service will be restored.

Which features are affected

While the outage lasts, the series' signature online features are unavailable: co-op, PvP invasions, and other players' messages, ghosts and bloodstains. Both single-player campaigns can still be played offline.

A precedent: 2022

It is not the first time: in January 2022, the PC servers for Dark Souls Remastered, II and III were deactivated to investigate a security issue and took months to return. This time consoles are affected too. FromSoftware has not linked this outage to any specific vulnerability.
